Metal Sound (Serbia)

''The music represented on “Ruins of Mankind” is, as I have already stated, progressive metal but erase the thoughts of another Dream Theater copycat band from your mind immediately, Burning Circle is one of troop of harder provenience that would fid right in slightly forgotten 90’s prog heavy scene with bands like Savatage, Morgana Lefay, Tad Morose… (I aim for the similar spirit, not that much musical style). Lords of Metal (Netherlands) (8/10)

I don’t think Serbian prog metal makes up the larger part of your music collection. However, meet Burning Circle, from Serbia, whose debut album ‘Ruins Of Mankind’ comes your way. Main influences I can detect are from the Italian act of Pathosray, but the old Ayreon albums have left their traces too, just like piece of the ancient Genesis. The vocals vary from poppy to death metal vocals. What can I say about the quality of this album? Well, it clear that these guys lack some experience, but I cannot deny the large amount of potential. The lack of experience is mainly manifested by the fact that the individual qualities rule over the need to write a song. On those moments where the songs is more centred this sounds very mature and in fact very good. These moments are very entertaining and moving. Because of the highly variable character it never gets really boring. However, one must be aware of sounding too incoherent. The vocals needs some more sophistication, but are well enough for the moment. This is not a bad introduction, not at all. The sound of the album is very good as well, so I must conclude this album is better than average. A serious label should get interested I presume.

Nocturne Magazine (Serbia)

Progressive Rock & Progressive Metal - E-Zine (Brazil)

'' Dies Irae'' is a heavy/power song with catchy melodies and sing-along chorus, with apocalyptic lyrics. Gargoyle On A Belfry is a mid-tempo power/prog metaller with power metal twin leads in vein of Helloween/Gammaray, but with some death/thrash metal bits and pieces and both melodic and growl vocals who sing a little story about the belfry stone statue. Kindred Spirits is power ballad about losing someone you spent your childhood with. It is very honest and emotional.”
